WWE News: Spoiler for the United States Championship Tournament 1

Dolph Ziggler relinquished the United States Championship in the post-Clash of Champions PPV episode of Smackdown Live. After winning the title for the second time in the final PPV of the year 2017, he acted weirdly to turn his back on the crowd.

So, when we thought that he would have a dominant run with the title, he decided to vacate it which is one of the strangest storylines of this time.

It, in turn, put his WWE career in more jeopardy which was already going downwards. The only way to rekindle his career was to crown him with a title. But, it is something much-surprising to see the title getting vacant, right away.

However, the other superstars got an opportunity by this with an eight-man tournament. Top superstars from the Smackdown Live brand received a chance to earn a shot at the US title. A new winner will be crowned at the Royal Rumble PPV on January 28th in Philadelphia.

Recently, a spoiler surfaced on the rumour mill, as indicating who might become the new champion. This was brought out by WWE advertisements for the live event matches. Multiple house-shows to be conducted by the Smackdown brand are advertising Baron Corbin as the new United States Champion hinting he will win the title and then go on to defend it on multiple occasions.

It is quite strange to witness Corbin’s name as the champion since he had already been eliminated from the first round of the tournament. However, he has not received his one-on-one title shot after losing it to Ziggler. Hence, he might come up with the demand for another shot shortly and try to recapture the title.

The show listings are advertising that Corbin will be defending his US title in triple threat capacity against Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler. Also, it is to be noted that despite being off from live TV, Ziggler will continue to perform in the live events. So, he will be lurking to be back on Smackdown, too demanding that he has not lost the title. The confusing situation is likely to get cleared in the upcoming episodes of the Tuesday Night show.
