The iconic Starrcade event made a successful return in 2017 which did not air on the WWE Network. But the lineups and matches received good ratings from the critics as WWE decided to keep this show intact in the coming years. The returning edition witnessed AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal inside a steel cage at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Last year, Seth Rollins battled Dean Ambrose for the IC title with the same stipulation in the main event.
