With Royal Rumble 2019 in the history books of the WWE, we are officially on the Road to Wrestlemania. This is the most exciting time of the year to watch WWE programming where we can expect bigger things. Returns, solid storylines and much more gets aired on a regular basis to make the weekly shows and PPVs more interesting.
Ronda Rousey to leave WWE after Wrestlemania 35
We have two more stops before we eventually hit the Wrestlemania scene. Next up is the Elimination Chamber PPV on February 17th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. On March 10th, we will have the Fastlane event that is the final WWE Network exclusive PPV prior to Wrestlemania. The Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio will be the host of this one.
Sometimes WWE holds back things for these two shows just to make the anticipation bigger at Wrestlemania. So the question is whether we can see the prime champions from WWE Raw on Elimination Chamber and Fastlane. We are talking about the WWE Raw women’s champion Ronda Rousey and the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
According to the Wrestling Observer, RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will be performing on both the shows. But the beast incarnate will not appear on either one of them. His next match appearance will happen at Wrestlemania 35. He will now face Seth Rollins (Men’s Royal Rumble 2019 winner) directly on April 7th.
It does not come as a surprise since Brock Lesnar does work in just a few selected dates. He has reportedly extended the contract in 2018 for even fewer appearances. So Wrestlemania is obviously the next time when we could expect to see the next Universal title defense. Prior to that, he might make some appearances to hype up the title match.
Ronda Rousey does not go by these rules despite being a marquee superstar on WWE Raw. So she will compete in both the Elimination Chamber and Fastlane. She has not missed a single PPV since Summerslam 2018 and will keep her ‘fighting champion’ status intact. However, her opponent is still not official on WWE Raw.
Currently, one of the main event matches at Elimination Chamber will take place over the women’s tag team championships. One of the six participants in the match will pick up the inaugural titles to create history. With most of the female names booked in this match, it will be interesting to see which superstar will challenge Ronda Rousey for her championship.
