WWE News: Steel Cage Match Made Official for Extreme Rules 1

The match card for Extreme Rules is all set from WWE Raw. Multiple feuds were ongoing on the flagship show to give a major boost to the TV ratings. By virtue of this, WWE has already announced multiple championship matches on the upcoming PPV.

All the titles from the show will be on the line except for the Universal Championship.

But there will be some major non-title matches at Extreme Rules PPV, too. Roman Reigns vs Bobby Lashley will be one such contest which is a first-time ever contest in the WWE. It is likely these two will battle it out in an unofficial number one contender’s match. The winner will get to battle Brock Lesnar over the Universal Championship, later.

There will be an Ironman, and Extreme Rules match. Plus, some non-title matches will also be on the card. Last night, WWE.com confirmed another such contest under a special stipulation. It will take place between long-term rivals, Braun Strowman and Kevin Owens.

The latter one was still to overcome from last week’s WWE Raw where Strowman hurled a porta-potty off the ramp. This week Owens showed up in Kurt Angle’s office and let us knew his incompetency due to the reckless attack. He wanted a safe environment to work on the show. The office of the GM was the only safe place for him to hide from the monster.

But the GM himself called Strowman into his office. It was not for another beating down operation. But that will happen at the Extreme Rules PPV event. Owens will have nowhere to run when he faces the Monster inside a steel cage. The Prizefighter looked speechless during this announcement.

Furthermore, WWE.com confirmed the match immediately,

“Kevin Owens, Braun Strowman is not finished with you! And that’s truly bad news for KO because Raw General Manager Kurt Angle has announced that the reluctant competitor will be locked inside a Steel Cage with Mr. Monster in the Bank at WWE Extreme Rules with nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.”

Strowman is the absolute favourite to win this contest at Extreme Rules. There’s no way he is losing this contest before Summerslam. It will make him look even stronger before he finally cashes in the MITB briefcase when Brock Lesnar re-appears.
