WWE News: Storyline Update For Kevin Owens And Sami Zayn At Wrestlemania 1

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have been the two cornerstone names for Smackdown Live for the last six months. Their vendetta against Shane McMahon has been the prime angle of the show. The bad blood between the two parties has grown as months passed by. These also helped Owens and Zayn to get title opportunities, as well.

At one point, Kevin Owens became the meanest heel in the history of the revamped blue brand. He went on to attack a helpless Vince McMahon standing up to the authority. The head-butt delivered to the boss will always be remembered as one of the worst incidents of the company. This caused a Hell in a Cell match.

This was the place where the friendship between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn was renewed. They started working together to remain in the main-event spotlight on a constant basis. This remained until the Royal Rumble PPV where these two competed in a handicapped match against AJ Styles.

From that point onwards, troubles started to brewing in their paradise. This was due to both of them gunning for the WWE Championship. They were forced to compete in a number one contender’s match for the WWE title, as well for a match at Fastlane. Currently, it is a six-pack challenge match for the prime title held by AJ Styles at the brand-exclusive PPV.

From the last few weeks onwards, the rift between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn has gone to the highest limit. This hinted to set up a Wrestlemania match between them, as per the earlier reports. However, the recent plan has been changed, according to the reports of Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

It was stated that two Canadian friends will compete in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, instead. This might sound disappointing to their fans. But, currently, there’s no plan of pitting them in a singles matchup. This might be due to a repetitive contest which we have seen in the past on numerous occasions. Check out the updates regarding the same from SportsKeeda.com,

“WWE is looking to put both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle royal, as per claimed by The Observer’s Dave Meltzer. There is now a very strong possibility of both Owens and Zayn competing in the WrestleMania 34 pre-show, instead of taking part in a high profile match at The Grandest Stage of Them All, later this year in New Orleans, Louisiana.”

As for now, the prestigious battle royal named after Andre the Giant is all set to take place in the kick-off show of Wrestlemania. The schedule might get changed in due course.
