On this past edition of Raw, we witnessed a mega confrontation between John Cena and Roman Reigns. The franchise player of the company moved to Raw to stand against the guy who claims that “this is his yard, now”.
The moment was cut short by The Miz who was visibly angry. As always, he delivered a furious promo that stole the spotlight. Apparently, it was a shoot to the WWE officials from the Intercontinental Champion.
It was reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer that The Intercontinental Champion is not happy at all with the way his match at Summerslam turned out to be. Despite being one of the prime star powers on Monday Night Raw, he was removed from the main show of Summerslam.
He has been furious over the fact that his Intercontinental title was the only one that was not defended during the biggest event of the summer. Plus, the tag team action against the Hardy Boyz also turned out to be a dull one since it was contested in an empty arena.
The Barclays Center did not allow the spectators to enter the arena when until the kick-off started and the match was already underway. So, we could spot that only a handful amount of people were present for the match, whereas, the rest of the fans were busy searching for their seats.
It led to The Hollywood A-lister being unhappy with his position in the company, for now. As for his championship planning goes, the same source hinted that Samoa Joe is going to be his next opponent. It is the reason why Joe volunteered to be his teammate on Raw but eventually came up losing the match.
The Miz is done with the momentary feud against Jason Jordan since the latter one is still not ready to enter into the singles title picture. So, going forward, the rivalry between Joe and Miz would be pretty interesting to see considering that both of these two men are heel characters.
Joe is going to turn into a babyface since Miz possesses a born-heel persona. However, the crowd was cheering for him on this past Raw which means the creative might give him a babyface gimmick, as well if this feud does pick up.
