WWE News: The Rock Intends to Come Back at Wrestlemania 35
The Rock is always a bigger draw for the WWE. The TV ratings for any WWE show gets a booster whenever he appears on it.
The company used him effectively ever since his return in 2011. He maintained consistency in showing up until Wrestlemania 32. The Rock took a hiatus from WWE programming from that point.
He competed in a short match on that night to defeat Eric Rowan of the Wyatt Family. It lasted for just six seconds creating a record at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Since then he has skipped two consecutive Wrestlemania shows. Previously, he kept consistency in appearing on this particular show.
The reason behind this absence is primarily for his Hollywood career. He is not only a movie star nowadays but also maintains a production house of his own. Next year, he will release the biopic based on Paige’s life as a producer. Meanwhile, recent reports suggest he might be back for Wrestlemania 35.
Reliable source TicketDraw suggested The Rock is open to making an appearance at the next edition of the showcase of immortals. He might make some appearances on WWE TV in this regard sooner than later. There’s no information available when that might take place. Here are the quotes from the source,
“Seems as if this news is going to hit soon but, It seems like The Rock is leaning towards wrestling in 2019(Mania) and making some WWE appearances sooner rather than later.”
Wrestling Observer Newsletter has also supported the theory. They also gave a positive hint of The Great One being back in the WWE in the near future. It is something that the officials are discussing internally. If his schedule permits then a return should be inevitable.
The movie around Paige’s life should be an inducer for this return. It is eyeing a release in time for next Wrestlemania season. The Rock will be around the WWE for promotional purposes of this venture. So making some appearances on WWE TV would be so helpful from WWE’s standpoint.
The source has not disclosed any further details on this matter. We hope to get further updates, as we move forward into the future. There can’t be a better way to make Wrestlemania 35 successful by bringing The Rock onboard.
