Every year when Wrestlemania comes around, the anticipation begins around the Undertaker. We keep on speculating that this time will mark an end to his career at the biggest event of the year. But he keeps on delivering mouth-watering bouts one after another proving us all wrong. This year is no different as we keep on guessing which match he will be a part of.
Who will Undertaker face at Wrestlemania?
Furthermore, it is also part of the speculation whether it 2019 Wrestlemania could be his last. This particular show has become synonymous to his identity. He holds the incredible record of 24-2 in the showcase of immortals. Such records belong to no other wrestler in the history of sports entertainment.
As Wrestlemania 35 approaches, one of the most trusted sources has revealed that The Undertaker may not perform here, at all. It’s hard to believe as WWE just can’t drop the biggest draw of the show, just like that. Even last year, they brought the Deadman out of retirement just to be a part of a match against John Cena.
Since that return, The Undertaker has taken part in multiple big matches in special PPV events and even house shows. He is in perhaps the best shape after undergoing hip surgery in 2017. So technically, there should not be any problem for him to compete at Wrestlemania, health-wise. But still, a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter hinted the same.
Dave Meltzer from the source has given an update on the Wrestlemania match card where the Undertaker is not present. Officials have been talking about the potential matches to take place on April 7th at the MetLife Stadium in New York, New Jersey. But they might have dropped the Phenome from the lineups.
However, Wrestlemania is still a long way to go from now and plans might be due for the greatest performer in Wrestlemania history. The Deadman should rise for at least one last time to entertain the fans. Even at last year, his entry to the match card took place on the day of the show, itself. So we assure the fans not to be worried about this wild rumor.
A few days ago, WWE has sent out a mail that billed the Undertaker as a WWE Hall of Famer alongside Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels. This fuelled out the rumors of his retirement that is going around for the past few years and also supported the report from Meltzer. But WWE later edited that post and removed ‘Taker’s name from there. We hope the Phenome is still very much relevant in Wrestlemania 35 picture, after this.
