WWE News: The Undertaker vs Rusev Match is Back at Greatest Royal Rumble 1

WWE might be having a roller-coaster ride with the status of Rusev in the company.

In a surprising turn of events, this man will now face the greatest performer ever in the history of the pro-wrestling business. The match will take place at the upcoming WWE Network-exclusive even on April 27th night.

Initially, the Undertaker vs Rusev was announced at the Greatest Royal Rumble event. For the first time after a long time, The Undertaker will be seen performing in a show except the big-four PPV events conducted by the WWE.

Furthermore, it was a ‘casket match’ that would be seen in WWE after a long time. The show set to be hosted in Saudi Arabia was hyped up even more with this announcement.

But, the Bulgarian Brute was not willing to perform in this match. Rusev Day is the hottest thing going around the WWE Universe. Perhaps, he was concerned about his fan-favourite run coming to an end at the hands of The Undertaker. So, he was not willing to participate in this match. A major backlash started over this issue.

Later, WWE pulled him off the match. Chris Jericho replaced Rusev in this match. The buildup for the same was also started when suddenly, it was changed, once again.

In an interesting turn of event, The Undertaker vs Rusev in a casket match has now been officially announced, once again.

To assure the fans, WWE is playing a storyline on the social media with Lana getting involved in it.

Previously, she refused to let her husband compete in this type of dangerous match. It was portrayed as the primary reason of Rusev not competing at Greatest Royal Rumble event.

Now, Lana posted another tweet claiming that she is quite confident about Rusev defeating the Undertaker at Saudi Arabia which is why the match is back onboard.

Check out the comments from WWE.com,

“Rusev is a world-class Superstar, but does he have what it takes to overcome The Undertaker at his own game? Find out which of the two iconic Superstars will walk out and which will be carried out in a casket at the Greatest Royal Rumble event on Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. AST. The event streams live on the award-winning WWE Network with a tune-in time of 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT.”

The WWE officials were not happy with Rusev doing strange behaviours for quite sometimes.

This is why his career was said to be in jeopardy, too. Perhaps, out of pressure from the backstage team, the Bulgarian Brute is now convinced to perform in the match at Greatest Royal Rumble event.
