The Hell in a Cell PPV will take place this year as part of a brand exclusive PPV for the second time. Last year, WWE Raw hosted the event, whereas, this year Smackdown has got the honour. The potential main event will witness the rematch between Jinder Mahal and Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship.
The match has been confirmed on WWE.com, but it is still not revealed whether the bout will happen inside the demonic structure. Apart from this one, it’s almost certain that a match between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens will be the second main event of the night.
Vince McMahon will be present on the next edition of Smackdown Live to announce the match, supposedly. The bad blood between Shane and Owens has reached to the boiling point, and there can’t be a better culmination than Hell in a Cell.
Now, apart from these two marquee matches, it is quite certain that the match card will be filled up with some other matches as well. The Wrestling Observer has come up with the possibilities of three such potential bouts for the night. According to the source, these contests are going to be added to the match card for the PPV,
AJ Styles vs Baron Corbin (United States Championship)
Bobby Roode vs Dolph Ziggler
Sami Zayn vs Aiden English
After getting detailed from the WWE title picture, the Lone Wolf is trying to get a shot at the US title by building a rift against Styles. He is supposed to interfere in the upcoming match between Styles and Tye Dillinger to set up the title match at Hell in a Cell.
Dolph Ziggler is trying to make fun of the WWE Universe by trying various gimmicks for him. He is expected to start a feud with Bobby Roode who is still to receive his first feud in the main roster. The build up for the rivalry is likely to kick-off from this Tuesday Night.
The third match is quite interesting since Aiden English has picked up two consecutive wins against Sami Zayn. As seen on last week, the feud is far from over, and it’s quite evident that a grudge match will be arranged at the Hell in a Cell PPV. It will mark the first-ever singles match for English in a PPV event as a result of this mini-push.
