WWE News: Three Documentaries to be Shot for WWE Network During Wrestlemania
This year’s Wrestlemania match card has shaped up to be one of the best of all-time. The main event would see Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar fighting out for the Universal Championship. Some might turn their back on this bout that was a long-time coming. But, there’s no doubt that these two are the two absolute bests on the WWE Raw roster. So, a match will be delivered worth to remember for ages.
Apart from that two dream matches for the fans will also happen. The first one will be contested between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship. For the first time in WWE, these two will compete against each other for the prime title. Also, there would be the Undertaker vs. John Cena match. We had to wait more than 15 years to finally make it happen at the grandest stage of them all.
Also, the fact that Ronda Rousey is debuting at Wrestlemania, makes the event even bigger. She is one of the most celebrated female athletes around the world. So, the attention of the fans would there to see how she fares in a match inside the squared circle. Plus, this would bring some major mainstream attention to the company, as well.
Apart from these mainstay matches, the WWE Network will try to bring out more original contents to make the subscriber ratings go upwards. In order to do that, they are likely to shoot multiple documentary series that will be aired at a later point. According to the reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company plans to more than ever docu-series like they usually do around the bigger events.
It is likely that three separate documentary films will be aired on Wrestlemania 34. The first one will focus itself on the biggest event of the year hosted from New Orleans, Louisiana. The second will portray the return of The Undertaker from his potential retirement match, last year. The third and final one will take us on the journey of Ronda Rousey for her debut match.
For the past several years, we are seeing such special series aired on the WWE Network that gives us an exclusive glimpse of the backstage stories. This year, the capacity will be made even higher with not one but three such shows. The source also suggested that a number of Table For 3 episodes will also be shot during the Wrestlemania weekend.
