Naomi and Lana are two integral part of Smackdown Live women’s roster. The first name is a former women’s champion, whereas, the second name is still to earn the same.
Naomi won the championship for two occasions including one at Wrestlemania 33. It was the biggest day of her career where she lit up the stage in her hometown of Orlando, Florida.
Lana debuted as the manager of Rusev in 2014. Their association came to an end in 2015 when she got involved in a storyline angle alongside Dolph Ziggler. Later, the creative team paired them together, again. Also, Lana tried to earn a name for herself by becoming an in-ring performer from last year onwards. She also had a full-fledged feud against Naomi, over the title.
We should note Naomi and Lana are also part of the Total Divas show. Now, most of the female superstars from this show are on good terms apart from their on-screen angle. But things might not be well between these two Smackdown superstars. Naomi took her social media handle to disclose the ongoing rift between these two.
The former Smackdown women’s champion stated Lana went to Beyonce’s concert without letting her know. It made her upset leading to non-speaking terms between these two. Here are her statements,
“I would like for everyone to know (deep breath) LanaWWE and I are no longer on speaking terms at this point in life. Reason being, she went to Beyoncé’s concert and lived her best life unbeknownst to me! Thanks to everyone who’s supporting me through this difficult betrayal.”
We want to take you back one year ago when all of this started. Naomi appeared in an interview on Total Divas Aftershow. She mentioned Beyonce to be her idol. She also wanted to challenge the icon in a wrestling match in future. So Lana visiting Beyonce’s concert without her concern was a shocker.
Here’re Naomi’s comments, (courtesy AfterBuzz TV),
“I would have to say Beyonce because she’s my idol. Beyonce is great at everything; you can’t be great at wrestling too. I think that is one thing she’s not good at & I would be better at her.”
Naomi also wanted to bring some of the legends back to the squared circle namely Trish Stratus, Lita or Melina. She might have dreamt of some of these legends inside the ring since Beyonce is not available for in-ring competition.
Meanwhile, the rift between Lana and Naomi would continue for now. There’s no update that whether WWE intends to present this through a storyline angle on TV at some point. But it could surely be an angle for the Total Divas show which starts from September onwards.
