WWE is dealing with the controversy surrounding the Greatest Royal Rumble event. It was a historic show on the WWE Network is no less than that of Wrestlemania.

Most of the main-eventer names from the company were seen competing for hyping-up this grand affair in the country of Saudi Arabia except for the women’s division.

We all know that there are certain restrictions for the female performers in Saudi Arabia. They are slightly conservative when it comes to allowing female superstars for competing in a match. Never before in the history of the country, we have seen a pro-wrestling match featuring the women until December 2017.

During that month, Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss made history by featuring in the first-ever championship match hosted in Saudi Arabia. Due to the local norms, they could not use their original in-ring attires. Rather, a tailor-made, fully covered dress was made for these two ladies.

We were eager to see more such incredible matches at the Greatest Royal Rumble event featuring the female superstars. But, they were not involved in the match card, at all. So, some of the WWE fans made some negative comments about the official making this event official even after knowing that the women will not be a key part of it.

The fans were particularly furious with the thought that WWE is the prime promoter of the Women’s Revolution. This had already gifted us numerous gimmick matches featuring the women. So, they needed an explanation, as to why the women superstars got excluded from the match card.

Recently, Triple h, the head honcho of the company and one of the visionaries to arrange the show spoke up on this topic.

As per him, it is unfortunate for not seeing the female performers at Greatest Royal Rumble. This is purely on the basis of the local culture of the fans.

But, going forward, WWE would definitely like to break the barriers for the women’s division in Saudi Arabia. These were his comments on Greatest Royal Rumble not including the women superstars,

“I understand that people are questioning it, but you have to understand that every culture is different and just because you don’t agree with a certain aspect of it, it doesn’t mean it’s not a relevant culture. You can’t dictate to a country or a religion about how they handle things but WWE is at the forefront of a women’s evolution in the world and what you can’t do is affect change anywhere by staying away from it.”
