It was earlier this week when The Mexican Aristocrat, Alberto Del Rio was stabbed from the back in his hometown. The assault took place when he was finishing his meal prior to his main event in the Lucha Underground. Del Rio has joined the same wrestling promotion after parting ways with the WWE. That night he was supposed to feature in the first main event since his return to the Lucha Underground.
So, he was in a hurry in finishing his meal and board on a flight to head to the main event of the Lucha Underground wrestling event: Heroes Immortales. He was going to walk into his car when another car from behind hit straight into his. The two instantly indulged in a heated argument on the scene.
But, Del Rio realized that he is getting late for his scheduled main event. So he decided to finish the talk as quick as possible. The other car’s driver was not reluctant to leave him. When Del Rio turned around to get into his car, the driver attacked from behind. He had a knife in his hand.
He assaulted Mexico’s greatest export for numerous times in the back. He went to injure the face of Del Rio when he fought back. He dodged to save his face and the knife injured him in the head. Since he was trying to protect himself with his hand his hands were scratched by several hits from the knife.
However, Del Rio managed to fight back and shove off the knife from the attacker. The stabber realized that he was getting mobbed and then fled away with his own car. However, one of the witnesses noted the car’s number and files were lodged by the help of it.
Del Rio was taken to the nearby hospital to get medical attention. Meanwhile, he lost his phone and could not connect to the Lucha Underground authority to tell his condition. So he tried to board a chartered flight to reach the main event on time but failed. However, his state is ok now and he will be performing in the upcoming events in the UK with wound spots in his body.
