WWE will host the 32nd edition of Summerslam in August. Currently, we are heading towards the next PPV event in line on July 15th. Extreme Rules will be back in the programming bringing back some of the most exciting gimmick matches we have seen in the past.
This event will set things up for the Summerslam event on August 19th. It is the biggest show of the summer. There’re no doubts that the creative team will save up some blockbuster storylines to culminate on this show. The Barclays Center in Brooklyn will be the host of it for the fourth straight year.
Plannings are definitely on for putting up a spectacular PPV next month. We expect to see some of the biggest lineups when it comes to the title matches. The rumour is that Brock Lesnar will come back to feature in the main event of the show. After a long hiatus, the Universal Championship will be on the line in a WWE PPV.
Meanwhile, PWInsider.com have come up with updates for an upcoming title match. They have given predictions on the WWE Raw tag team championship contest at Summerslam PPV. Currently, Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy are the title-holders on the show. They are all set to defend their titles at Extreme Rules.
The B-Team is going to be their opponents who are currently on a roll. But they will not remain anywhere near around the title picture when it comes to Summerslam. A brand new tag team will get the opportunity, next. The Authors of Pain is the concerned team.
Mike Johnson of the source confirmed team formed by Akam and Razor would be the next number one contender for the Raw tag team championships, (courtesy Ringsidenews.com),
“It looks like they are finally going to do something with The Authors of Pain. The “B-Team” thing is just a bridge to get to Matt & Bray Wyatt facing The Authors of Pain at SummerSlam.”
Authors of Pain was one of the most anticipated call-ups from the NXT roster during this year’s Superstar Shakeup. They have been perhaps the most dominant force in the NXT tag team division. Obviously, we expected big planning around them on the main roster. It looks like Summerslam will mark the beginning of it.
