In recent times, there has been quite a speculation of whether Ronda Rousey is getting on board with the WWE or not. It is not something new since every year when bigger events like Wrestlemania or Summerslam comes up, we get used to hearing about it. It was further fuelled up by her appearance at Mae Young Classic tapings.
She was said to be in attendance for not only one but two dates. Her mate from UFC, Shayna Baszler is already competing in the tournament, itself and already reached the semi-finals. So, there might be a time we can finally expect the former Bantamweight Champion to show up in the squared circle.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Newsletter has noted on this matter. He said that there might be a deal made between WWE and herself which will allow her to make more appearances in the WWE despite her UFC contract being intact. However, this does not mean that this is a wrestling contract. You can check Alvarez’s comments to know the situation better:
“So Ronda Rousey was in fact in the front row at the Mae Young Classic. Shayna Baszler, one of the 4 Horsewomen is in the tournament and they had Ronda there for the first night — I believe she was there for the second night. I know that they’ve apparently worked something out where she’s going to be there more often for these, I don’t know what that means.”
“I don’t think they’re going to sign her to like an active participant in the Women’s Division. Could they get Ronda Rousey for one match? Sure! They offer her enough money, UFC okays it, and she’s up with it then yeah, absolutely. I’m sure they’d love it. I’m not sure it’s gonna happen though.”
We have seen a confrontation between the WWE and UFC female superstars during the Mae Young Classic. Also, Cris Cyborg challenged Becky Lynch for a match at Summerslam. This certainly indicates that in near future some WWE & UFC collaboration will come to fruition, for sure.
