WWE News: Update On Roman Reigns’ Return On WWE Raw
Roman Reigns was out of the TLC PPV due to illness. His viral infection was detected just before the PPV event that sidelined him from The Shield reunion at the main event match on that night. As a replacement, Kurt Angle joined Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to pick up the win.
Now, considering that Roman Reigns is the franchise player of the company, WWE can’t afford him to stay away from televised shows for a long time. In case you don’t know, it was a type of meningitis virus that affected a part of the Raw roster, almost a month ago. Bray Wyatt, his brother Bo Dallas and his partner, JoJo Offerman were the first victims of this one to get sidelined.
Later, one-third member of The Shield also suffered the same consequence which needs complete rest to get healed up. Reigns’ infection was said to be a primary one and hence, he should be back in quick time. Doctors did not want to take any risk with him and hence kept him aside from TLC.
If reports from Pro Wrestling Sheets are to be believed, then The Big Dog should be back in his yard in time for the last dual brand PPV of 2017. It means that he will be able to perform at the Survivor Series PPV which is scheduled to take place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on November 19th.
Initially, we have thought that The Shield will be booked as a unit in a matchup at the event. However, Ambrose and Rollins are booked in a tag team contest affair against The Usos. This match was announced as part of the two tag team champions from Raw and Smackdown clashing at the Survivor Series PPV.
So, for now, we can expect Reigns to fill up one of the places at the traditional 5-on-5 tag team elimination matchup at the PPV. This match has already been confirmed with the members yet to be revealed, fully.
As for the return schedule for the other victims of the meningitis virus, i.e. Wyatt and Dallas goes, cagesideseats.com stated that no timetable had been dictated by the officials, for them. So, they might not show up until a storyline perspective comes up for them.
