At Backlash PPV, the Smackdown brand crowned three different new champions. One of them were the Tag Team champions, Heath Slater and Rhyno. The decision was much appreciated by the WWE fans. But till date, their title reigns of 70 days has been nothing but a joke. If reports are any indication then they are going to lose it at the next Smackdown’s exclusive PPV, WWE TLC. It is scheduled to take place at the American Airline center in Dallas, Texas.
As we have seen last week, the Wyatt family interrupted the American Alpha after they became the No. 1 contender. The team of Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt competed against them to determine the ‘true’ No. 1 on Smackdown Live. Since they won, they’ll now face the Tag Team champions at the PPV.
Now, a report from ringsidenews.com suggests that Wyatt and Orton are going to win the title match quite easily. The WWE creative rightfully thinks there’s no team present at the Smackdown roster who can add more prestige to the newly unveiled title then the new Wyatt family. Also, it’ll mark the first title for Bray Wyatt in his three-year WWE career.
Updates of the WWE World title match suggests AJ Styles is the favorite to retain his title and go on to defend it at the Royal Rumble PPV against The Undertaker. The PPV has the most chance to see the Phenom winning his eighth WWE title.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter said the following regarding the planning of the match, “There has been a legit talk of doing A.J. Styles vs. Undertaker at Royal Rumble. We haven’t heard that it’s a done deal, but it’s something that’s talked about. If Undertaker is to win, they could have Cena go for his 16th Championship against Undertaker at Wresltmania, since Cena vs. Undertaker is a match never done before at Mania. There may be a timing issue since Undertaker recently had a hip surgery and is going through rehab right now.”
