John Morrison was a popular wrestler during his stint in WWE. He made quite a name for himself with his high-risk maneuvers and spectacular in-ring abilities. Now, with WWE being open-minded to bring back superstars from their competitive wrestling promotions, the door is wide open for John Morrison to return back where he belongs. In the recent times, we have seen multiple superstars from different promotions have landed on WWE and the franchise made proper use of them to the main roster or in the NXT brand instead of burying them.
The latest reports from allwrestlingnews.com suggest that WWE is looking forward to bring back the high-flying superstar on the roster. The company is interested in hiring John Morrison who is currently enjoying his stint in the Lucha Underground. Vince McMahon himself acquired people close to Morrison about Morrison’s contract’s status with the rival promotion. Though, the report suggests that no formal contact was made by WWE, yet.
Morrison had spoken about his possible return to WWE where he remarked that he is a big fan of Seth Rollins and would like to have a match with him. On the other hand, he did not leave a chance to troll the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. Here’s what he had to offer:
“I’d just love to have a great match with Seth Rollins. Roman Reigns, I’d love to wrestle him in like 10 years if he’s still wrestling, because by then hopefully he’d figure out how to work”
John Morrison started his career in WWE back in 2002 by competing in the ‘Tough Enough’ reality show. As a professional wrestler in WWE, he won a number of championships. He won the WWE World tag team championships for five times and the prestigious Intercontinental championship for three different occasions. He was last seen in WWE in the year 2011 where he faced his former tag team partner The Miz in a ‘Falls Count Anywhere’ match. After the match, he was stretchered out of the arena. Following his injury, WWE announced his contract’s expiry and moved his profile to the alumni section. After wrestling on the independent circuit for sometimes he started appearing for the Lucha Underground promotion from 2014.
