WWE News: Wellness Policy Violation Of Jeff Hardy Will Be Carried Forward 1

Jeff Hardy previously worked with the WWE in two different tenures. On both the occasions he suffered suspensions by the company after breaking the wellness policies. Back in the Attitude Era, Jeff left the WWE in 2002 since he had some issues with drug substances.

He re-signed with the company again in 2006 and performed until 2009. In the year 2008, he suffered the second suspension for the same reason. This time the span was for sixty days which prohibited him from winning the Money in the Bank briefcase at the Wrestlemania 24.

Now, at this past Wrestlemania 33, we have seen a dramatic return from both Matt and Jeff Hardy after several years. It was thought that WWE might not count the previous two suspensions for the former world champion.

But, the company seems unmoved from their strict laws when it comes to the Wellness Policy and will not let it go. According to the rulebook, if a performer suffers suspension and leaves WWE, the record will remain there in case he comes back, someday.

“Any WWE Talent, who leaves the WWE for any reason with a first or second violation on his/her record, will maintain said violation count on his/her record from the time he/she departs WWE until the time he/she returns, if ever, to the WWE.”

Jeff Hardy still has a chance to erase the history of this violation by appealing to the appropriate authority. He would have to follow a strict rule as stated below:

“Upon successful completion of the Redemption Program, the WWE Talent shall request the PA, with the approval of the Medical Director, to delete one (1) of the two (2) violations of record for such WWE Talent.
In the event the PA determines in favour of the request, the violation record for such WWE Talent will then be amended to reflect the reduction of a violation leaving the WWE Talent with only one (1) violation under the Policy.”
