WWE News: When was Triple H Inserted into Survivor Series Match Card?
The most significant change in the Survivor Series match card was made in this past week’s WWE Raw.
The entire Team Red was announced for the last dual brand PPV of the year where they will go against team Blue for brand supremacy. Kurt Angle has been chosen the team captain, whereas, Shane McMahon will lead the Smackdown team.
Apart from Angle, there were Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, and Jason Jordan who were announced to take part in the match. There was quite a fan backlash over Jordan getting the spot over numerous other successful Raw superstars. Many fans do feel he has not done anything special to get a place in such a huge matchup.
So, it was an expected move from the WWE that they decided to take him away from the match card and insert one veteran name that raised the stakes even higher. None other than Triple H returned to WWE Raw to take away the spot from Kurt Angle’s son and replace him on team Raw. So, at Survivor Series, both Angle and Triple H will work together to overcome the challenge thrown by Smackdown.
If the reports from PWInsider.com are to be believed, then it was a very late decision to bring The Game into the mix. Vince McMahon was behind this head-burner idea that was liked by the fans. Late in the weekend, The Boss made the idea final and culminated it on Raw. Check out the reports from the source, (courtesy stillrealtous.com)
“Vince McMahon hadn’t made the decision to switch Jason Jordan out for Triple H until late in the weekend. This choice only gave Jason Jordan around 48 hours to prepare for his epic scene where he turned on the waterworks and gave the dramatic performance of his life while begging his Papa Kurt not to kick him off of Team Raw.”
Jordan received less than 48 hours to act with tears in his eyes on Raw for this segment. For the entire night, the fans attacked him with verbal abuses. The chants were ongoing when he and Angle were having the conversation on TV. The decision of taking him away was done by Angle for which Jordan might decide to turn heel in the future.
