WWE Universe received a pleasant surprise on last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw after receiving a dream match. AJ Styles defeated Baron Corbin to become the new number one contender for the prime title present on the brand. He will now challenge Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event.

These two names will be the cornerstone figures on Raw since Roman Reigns has moved onto Smackdown Live. Plus, they are the two most technical wrestlers of this generation who never squared off inside the squared circle. This makes the future showdown a must-see for the fans.

However, WWE did book this for Money in the Bank that came as a sudden move. It surprised the fans to the biggest extent as they’d least expect these two veterans squaring off in a match just after the Superstar Shakeup. Reports are out revealing as to why WWE creative has come up with this feud to kick off the post-Wrestlemania season.

Rey Mysterio’s son joined WWE

The Dirty Sheets reported low ticket selling for Money in the Bank is the only reason that we are getting Seth Rollins vs. AJ Styles dream match, this early. Tickets for the upcoming pay-per-view event are barely moving at this point. WWE is having only more than three weeks to sell out the show set for May 19th.

So this match that could have taken place at next year’s Wrestlemania was booked for Money in the Bank that shocked the pro-wrestling fans. The officials were concerned of the May 19th show and hence thought of giving away this match could be the only way to invest the fans into the PPV and thereby boosting ticket selling.

Additionally, the worldwide craze of Avengers: EndGame and the lackluster buildups following Wrestlemania have been a speculated reason for poor moving of ticket sales. Also, Game of Thrones final episode falls on the same day of Money in the Bank preventing many of the fans to attend the show in person.

These worked as huge factors to decline interests among the fans for the first PPV event after Wrestlemania 35. However, the officials are hell-bent on putting over a successful show and intend to set up a stacked card. If they can’t witness positive outcomes yet, then they might stay in more of a give-away mode in the next few weeks.
