Rusev is having quite a good run on Smackdown Live for now. Extreme Rules offered him a WWE Championship match against AJ Styles. At Summerslam 2018, he has a match as well.

It was his maiden chance for the title that ended in a losing effort. Aiden English turned out to be the difference maker causing a distraction. A rift is going between these two since then.

After that, Rusev entered a new feud on Smackdown. It looked like the officials finally wanted to turn him into a babyface after months of waiting. It is why Andrade Cien Almas became his next opponent. They will try to settle the differences at Summerslam in a mixed tag team match.

Lana will team up with Rusev in this match against Zelina Vega and Almas. This particular angle on Smackdown had entertained us on a weekly basis. In fact, the story-telling has been great for this feud that forced to insert this match at Summerslam. The fans are not complaining at all to see this mixed tag team action.

However, the leader of Rusev Day from Smackdown might be unhappy. Recently, spoilers are out on the social media stating that the former contender for WWE Championship is thinking of leaving the company. Current planning around him failed to bring the best out of him. It should be a valid reason behind this negative career update.

A fan asked Rusev about this rumour on social media. He questioned straight whether he is thinking of quitting the company after Summerslam? In reply, the Bulgarian Brute commented the following,

“I’m never ever gonna quit,”
‘Cause quitin’ just ain’t my schtick Barry White.”

It has assured the fans of Rusev who started to think otherwise about his career. Speculation went high this time around, as Rusev hinted to leave the company on multiple occasions, earlier. He received tremendous backstage heat around WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble. Even an opponent like The Undertaker failed to please him.

Hopefully, Rusev can be a valid superstar on Smackdown Live even after Summerslam. Thankfully, Lana is now back by his side that would automatically make things good for him. Plus, making him a babyface superstar will also help him in long-term planning. WWE Universe wanted it to happen for many occasions and should be happy with it.
