The Hardy Boyz performed as a tag team after over a year in the WWE. They appeared as a team on the February 26th episode of Smackdown Live competing against The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro). We saw the old glimpses of the veterans who hit their respective finishing maneuvers on their opponents to pick up the win. It was really exciting to see them back onboard, together.
Superstar unhappy for not getting Wrestlemania match
Why multiple superstars left WWE?
The question is whether the Hardy Boyz will continue performing in WWE in the upcoming months. In case you don’t know, both the Hardys’ deals with the WWE were about to get over. They have just a few days left in their contract which hinted a potential exit in anytime soon. It was the sole reason that some of the WWE Universe members were really shocked to see these two back as a team.
It looks like WWE might have some future plans around The Hardy Boyz as we head towards Wrestlemania 35. Apparently, WWE renewed the soon-to-be-expired deal with them that will continue for a year, more. Here’s the update via wrestlingINC.com,
“Word going around backstage is that WWE invoked a clause in Matt Hardy’s contract and Jeff Hardy’s contract that will see the deals roll over for a third year, according to PWInsider. The contracts were set to expire next week if WWE decided against rolling them over.”
Back in September 2018, Matt Hardy teased that his WWE career might be over for good. He was dealing with a back injury which was reportedly career-threatening. So after performing a Texas house show, he posted the below on Twitter,
“I never say never, but tonight here in Corpus Christi was most likely the last time you will ever see Woken Matt Hardy in a WWE ring.”
It would not be surprising if the Hardy Boyz would have walked out of the scene. But they decided to stay under the WWE banner. We have received the confirmations after they competed as a tag team in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Hardy Boyz returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 33 in 2017. It was one of the best Wrestlemania moments of all time. They won the WWE Raw tag team championship in a Fatal 4-way ladder match against Cesaro and Sheamus, Enzo and Big Cass, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
