WWE News: WWE bringing back the World Heavyweight Championship

If going by this past week’s WWE Monday Night Raw, then the fans can be assured of the return of the World Heavyweight Championship in the blue brand of WWE, once it gets separated from Raw, like its earlier days. During the last episode of WWE Raw, the current champion was referred as only the WWE Champion and not as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The part “World Heavyweight” was noticeably missing.
The verbal change was not the all, even the graphic showed Ambrose as the WWE champion during his entrance. Furthermore, the graphic designed for the upcoming triple threat match at WWE Battleground pay-per-view also showed that the same.
With that being said, cagesideseats.com also has reported that this may very well mean that WWE is bringing back the World Heavyweight Championship back as the leading title for the Smackdown show like it was before.

Rumors have been running all over the internet and the pro-wrestling fraternity once WWE has announced that Smackdown will be separated from Raw as part of the brand extension, earlier this year. The return of the World Heavyweight Championship has been one consistent rumor among of all of those.
Since the beginning of Smackdown in 2002, the show had got the leading title as the World Heavyweight Championship until WWE decided to merge it with the WWE championship. In 2013 version of the TLC pay-per-view, John Cena, and Randy Orton battled it out for the unification of the title with Randy being the first one to become the first unified WWE World Heavyweight Championship holder. Both the two title featured on the champion’s shoulder till August 2014. The night after Summerslam pay-per-view, WWE replaced the two belts with the current version.
As announced earlier, Smackdown will go live on air starting from July 19th on Tuesday Nights on the USA Network and the much-anticipated WWE Draft will take place on the same night which will decide new split roster, new championships, and even new pay-per-views distinctively for both Raw and Smackdown.
