The pro-wrestling universe, as well as the mainstream media, received a major heart-broken news, yesterday. The popular host of E-News and WWE, Maria Menounos was diagnosed with brain tumour. The news was shared by herself on the social media platforms after which she quit her job of a media journalist.
Following her diagnosis with the major disease, she gave an interview t the People Magazine to confirm her status where she described the fallouts she is having with it:
“I’d been getting lightheaded on set and having headaches. My speech has gotten slurred and I was having difficulty reading the teleprompter.”
Maria Menounos is quite a reputed name in the news media industry as well as the sports entertainment. She is quite a popular face among the WWE fans by making regular appearances on WWE TV programming.
She is one of the most renowned hosts of E-News. This is the same media house with which WWE has a collaboration due to the filming of Total Divas. So, we use to see Maria Menounos appearing for the WWE’s televised shows, quite often including Raw, Smackdown and the PPVs.
Being a fan of WWE from her childhood Maria was always interested in this programming. Being quite a reputed face, E News allowed her to cover the major WWE events like Wrestlemania or Summerslam. She was last seen at the Wrestlemania 33 event, as well in Orlando, Florida. Also, she has been the host of WWE Hall of Fame for four consecutive years.
WWE wished all their very best to Maria while she is fighting with the brain tumour at home. Her mother is also suffering from a brain cancer. So, both of them are under doctor’s observation, right now. In Instagram, she has left an emotional message for her fans which quoted:
“First I wanna say thank you all for the good wishes, prayers, and support. It’s been a crazy time here in our home. I want you all to know that I’m ok! Seriously I’m recovering well and should be as good as new very very soon! Luckily I don’t need any further treatments but I can’t say the same about my mum. So please keep her in your prayers.”
