WWE hosted a United Kingdom tour in recent times. Both the NXT roster and the superstars from Europe performed on this show to make it a great success.
It was a follow up from last years United Kingdom tournament hosted on the WWE Network. We did not get live broadcast of the show. But the delayed tapings were available on the video platform provided by the WWE.
It as yet another success pulled off by the biggest pro-wrestling promotion in the world. Triple H made some big announcements during this tour. It had to do a lot about the future of the United Kingdom branch of the company. WWE will stop at nothing to capture the market spread at the overseas.
Their activities suggest the same as well. A recent report from a source suggested the company has filed a petition to get a new trademark. PWInsider.com reported the “British Strong Style” trademark is likely to be added to the UK brand, sooner. It could turn out to be a faction name or a brand new event name for the European superstars.
Here’s what the petition stated according to Mike Johnson of the source,
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network.”
We need to remind you that Trent Seven, Tyler Bate, and Pete Dunne call themselves as “British Strong Styles”, quite often. It looks like WWE is planning to build a new faction featuring these three popular names.
The Shield is a needed mention on this context who broke out into the scene to take things over back in 2012 just like them. A similar kind of group would be perfect to shake things around.
Triple H, the head honcho of the United Kingdom brand previously revealed the re-constructing of this particular roster. It will be a separate brand under the NXT banner, right now.
There will be a UK champion, as always. Plus, they will also introduce a new tag team division and a women’s division in the near future.
Johnny Saint is going to be the new General Manager for the United Kingdom brand. By the current looks of it, this venture created by the WWE should turn out to be an interesting project.
WWE Universe always praised the UK tournament matches on the WWE Network. We are likely to get more of this brand on TV following this massive shakeup.
