We have got some bad news from Shelton Benjamin whose return was now postponed due to injury. The former WWE superstar took his Twitter handle to let us know that he has to undergo a surgery due to a torn rotator cuff. This is the same issue that cost John Cena five months in his career during this year’s beginning.
The WWE Creative has stored something big for him upon return. Both, Vince and Triple H are looking forward for the Golden standard to be back in the WWE. As reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter upon return, Benjamin will be part of a stable alongside Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger.
WWE is looking to recreate WCW “Varsity Club” stable featuring Rick Steiner, Mike Rotunda, Steve Williams, Kevin Sullivan and Dan Spivey. Jack Swagger has been brought back to Smackdown Live from Raw for this purpose. He will end up losing his feud against Baron Corbin. In the meantime, Ziggler too will continue with his shortcomings in the upcoming months. These two will look to be back on track with Benjamin returning to the blue brand.
These three will start the shoot work to gain tremendous heat and thereby making the stable a success. The plan certainly looks to be a brilliant idea while thinking about the career of Swagger and Ziggler going nowhere. We will have to wait till further update.
Vince McMahon does not like the idea of these shoot stables since it creates negative impacts. However, WWE Creative is still looking forward with the stable planning.
Shelton Benjamin returning promo has already aired in Smackdown Live, the possibility is that he was detected with the injury while going through the routine medical check-ups before WWE medical personnel in Pittsburgh. With that being said, he will not be returning to the company in this year. The injury is likely to take some more months from him in the next year, as well.
