WWE News: WWE likely to sign Indian Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar 1

The biggest pro-wrestling company in the world is likely to sign another Olympian under their wings. This time, they are contacting our very own Indian wrestler, Sushil Kumar  who claimed back to back Olympic medals for India.

The reports suggest that WWE is currently negotiating the contract with the wrestler. WWE’s developmental territory head, Canyon Cayman has flown to New Delhi to meet Sushil’s agent, in person. WWE generally calls superstars to their developmental base in Orlando, Florida. Now, that Canyon himself came to the capital city, it’s evident that there are some serious concerns regarding the matter.

A source also suggested that there are some serious talks going on with the two parties, as of right now by commenting, “We are planning on introducing Sushil to Pro Wrestling in late 2017, and we are also talking to various organisations including WWE to open a franchise in Delhi to groom young Indian Pro Wrestling talent.”

Sushil Kumar’s event handler Raman Raheja also quoted regarding the matter, “I can’t obviously give you internal details of when we are meeting etc, but I can confirm that Sushil is very much interested in growing a Pro Wrestling career now.”

Sources also suggest that the move to joining WWE came since he was looking for an alternative career. There is bright future for him in the world of sports entertainment and especially in the WWE since they have the utmost respect for the Olympians. Previously, a number of Olympians had made it big in the company. Kurt Angle, Mark Henry and the current superstar, Chad Gable is amongst the likes.

This will be not the first time that an Indian wrestler will be part of WWE. Dalip Singh Rana, better known as The Great Khali has been a former World heavyweight Champion in WWE. Until an official confirmation comes from WWE, we have to wait for the updates regarding the matter. But, if the contract signing does happen, Sushil Kumar can have a great future in the pinnacle of sports entertainment.
