WWE NXT 2.0 aired this week with the main event match where Tony D’Angelo and Santos Escobar duked it out to settle the scores. NXT North American Champion featured in a non-title tag team match. NXT Champion Bron Breakker returned while the inaugural NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament also continued on the show that took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. – WWE NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes and Solo Sikoa defeated Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams in the opening contest. Sikoa self-tagged himself by the end of the match and planted Williams with a Samoan Drop. Grimes hit the Cave In on Williams while Sikoa took out Hayes with a frog-splash for the pinfall win.
Hell In A Cell 2022: WWE Raw Women’s Title Match Officially Announced
– Lash Legend defeated Tatum Paxley to advance in the WWE NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Lash kicked out of a corkscrew moonsault and pushed her way out of a lift. After delivering a pump kick to the face, Lash got the three-count on Paxley.
– WWE NXT’s return to live touring was revealed during the TV taping.
– WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker and Joe Gacy featured in a confrontation to set up a title rematch between the two which is yet to be officially announced. Gacy mentioned how Bron would lose his title if he somehow gets disqualified in the upcoming match.
WWE NXT 2.0 Results (17/05/22): Top Smackdown Tag Team Was In Action
– The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) defeated The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) (with Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp) in a tag team match. Julius got cracked by a roundhouse kick from Ivar while Erik hit him with a package slam for the pinfall win.
– Grayson Waller defeated Andre Chase (with Bodhi Hayward) in a short match by hitting his pop-up cutter finisher.
WWE NXT In Your House 2022: Two Championship Matches Announced
– Roxanne Perez defeated Kiana James to advance in the WWE NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Perez kicked out of a sidewalk slam and hit the Pop Rox out of nowhere to get the pinfall win.
– Nathan Frazer defeated Wes Lee via disqualification after Von Wagner rushed the ring and took out Frazer.
– In the main event of WWE NXT 2.0, Santos Escobar defeated Tony D’Angelo in a singles contest. As expected, a brawl broke out at ringside between Two Stacks and Dimes and Legado del Fantasma during the matchup. Santos took advantage of the chaos and drilled Tony with brass knuckles to secure the three-count on him for the win.
– After the match, Joe Gacy was shown with his two druids in a dark room as she sent a message to WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker for their upcoming title match to end the show.
