WWE NXT 2.0 will offer its second Specials on the WWE Network in the form of NXT In Your House 2022 edition. The old-school gimmick was previously reported to return in the first week of June. Now it’s been confirmed from WWE’s side while two major title matches for the show have also been confirmed.
WWE has announced on their official website that NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes will defend his title against former champion Carmelo Hayes at NXT In Your House 2022. This time around, the TakeOver term has been trimmed the premium live event as a part of the brand revamp for NXT 2.0.
WWE NXT 2.0 Brand Reportedly Set To Resume With Their Touring Schedule
During last week’s NXT 2.0 episode, Grimes mentioned how he will be defending his title against Carmelo Hayes at the upcoming NXT In Your House 2022 event. Grimes did not make the match, official but he did promise to give Solo Sikoa, the other challenger a title shot, later on. This week, Grimes and Sikoa will team up against Hayes and his buddy Trick Williams in a non-title tag team match to continue the ongoing storyline.
Grimes won the NXT North American title at NXT’s latest last premium live event, Stand & Deliver when he defeated the aforementioned Hayes as well as Solo Sikoa, Santos Escobar, and Grayson Waller in a ladder match.
NXT In Your House 2022: Tag Team Titles will be on the line
Apart from Grimes, WWE has also announced that new NXT Tag Team Champions, Kit Wilson and Elton Prince of Pretty Deadly will also defend their titles at NXT In Your House 2022 against Julius and Brutus Creed – The Creed Brothers of The Diamond Mine.
Pretty Deadly captured the vacant NXT Tag Titles on the 12th April edition of NXT 2.0 when they won a gauntlet match featuring the Creed Brothers, Legado del Fantasma, Grayson Waller & Sanga, and Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen.
It was previously reported that NXT In Your House 2022 is going to be a television special for a regular weekly episode of the show. However, now it’s been confirmed to be a WWE Network Specials during the Hell in a Cell weekend (Saturday, June 4 beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT). The updated card for the second-ever Specials from the revamped NXT 2.0 brand goes as follows,
Cameron Grimes (C) vs. Carmelo Hayes — NXT North American Championship
Pretty Deadly (C) vs. Creed Brothers — NXT Tag Team Championship
