Coming out of this week’s NXT, the stacked card of NXT Great American Bash 2023 is gradually being set up. Dominik Mysterio won the NXT North American Championship to set up a fresh encounter with Mustafa Ali. The NXT Women’s Title was also declared where Tiffany Stratton will face Thea Hail in a rematch over the title.
Also, at NXT Great American Bash 2023, the former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez will compete in a non-title matchup. During the latest episode of NXT, Perez, and Blair Davenport participated in a dual sit-down interview with NXT commentators Vic Joseph and Booker T and agreed to feature in this match at the PLE.

Davenport mocked Perez by stating that the NXT women’s division was made for grown-ups and not for “little girls” like her. Filled up with frustration, Perez said she was tired of being targeted and it eventually works for her motivation. Davenport pushed her back by claiming that Perez didn’t believe in herself and she doesn’t belong to NXT in the first place after which Perez left the set.
Soon after the segment, the matchup between these two was revealed for NXT Great American Bash 2023. This feud started when Davenport was revealed as the hooded figure behind the numerous surprise attacks on several talents of the NXT women’s division including Perez. On the July 4 episode, Davenport already secured a win over Perez.
Apart from this matchup, Tony D’Angelo was back from prison on NXT and he was announced to participate in a title match at the NXT Great American Bash 2023. Teaming up with “Channing” Stacks Lorenzo, he will challenge Gallus for the NXT Tag Team Championship at the upcoming PLE.
