A few weeks ago, the former one-half of WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Cora Jade turned on the other half, Roxanne Perez to split themselves up for good. The very next week, she threw her NXT Women’s Tag Team Title in the trash, also forcing Perez to vacate her title which now calls for a title match on this week’s NXT 2.0 episode.

As announced last week by WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze, a fatal-four-way match to crown new WWE NXT Women’s tag team champions went down this week. The teams to participate in the match were Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin & Jacey Jayne vs. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance vs. Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon vs. Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley.

WWE NXT 2.0: Huge Matches Announced For Next Week

There had been some backstage talks on WWE NXT within the company about making Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley the champions, according to Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. Nothing is confirmed in this regard and it is unknown whether WWE will follow the same lead.

As noted in the report, it has only been discussed as a possibility. Plus, there’s no update on whether that decision was influenced by the old creative team influenced by Vince McMahon or not. Currently, Triple H has become the new creative head of the company in the absence of Vince who recently announced his retirement from his WWE Chairman & CEO position.

Ultimately, WWE went ahead with Carter and Chance who eliminated The Toxic Attraction members to become new champions on NXT.

For those who don’t know, Paxley has been signed with the WWE starting in August 2021 and she made her WWE NXT debut in February of this year. She has since been teaming up with Nile who previously appeared on The Titan Games, hosted by WWE legend Dwayne Johnson. She was also spotted on Raw Underground segments, a couple of years ago.
