Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are one of the most popular professional wrestling couples who is staying away from public eyes for the past few months. It seems they are quietly getting ready to be back in the mainstay scene, sooner than later. Reports are suggesting a return for the couple to the squared circle, shortly. It should be noted that this may not necessarily happen in the WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer in a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s expected that Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae will soon make their return to professional wrestling. It was not informed where these two people may end up after coming back didn’t but the indication was there that the two former WWE NXT Superstar may go to AEW as there’s a push to bring in LeRae on the roster.

Both Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae were heavily rumored to be part of the Owen Hart Men and Women’s Tournament. AEW’s official Twitter account accidentally tagged Gargano after which Johnny Elite was revealed to be the Joker in the men’s tournament. Plus, Gargano also appeared on Sammy Guevara’s vlog during a May episode.

Update on Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae’s next destination
There’s another reason why Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae may opt to go to AEW, after all, due to the long-time association of the latter name to the Young Bucks. LeRae and the Bucks were rivals in the Southern California independent promotion Pro Wrestling Guerilla in the early 2010s,
They had face-offs in numerous tag team and multi-person matches. In 2014 LeRae defeated the Bucks in a Guerilla Warfare hardcore match to become one-half of the PWG Tag Team Champions. Plus, both Matt and Nick Jackson have wanted LeRae as the female talent they’d want to recruit to the AEW most from the WWE.
Meltzer also noted in his report that Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae have an open door with WWE, but at this point, this company may not be the ideal landing spot for them as NXT is moving with the younger talents under the 2.0 revamp. Also, Gargano wouldn’t receive a main roster push.
AEW is also speculated not to be an ideal landing place for both Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae due to the company’s loaded roster and limited TV time. That being said, we expect updates for these two free agents about their future in professional wrestling.
