The General Manager William Regal opened the latest episode on the USA Network to announce that Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez are the inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions as they’ve won the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
The first-ever Women’s Tag Team Titles for WWE NXT came as a result of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler retaining over Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez in a match that ended in a controversial manner. Kai and Gonzalez had earned their title shot by winning the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Regal then declared that he would have a major announcement that came, this week.

Meanwhile, the moment for the new tag champs didn’t last long as they’ve already lost it during a championship defense against Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart. Moon and Blackheart wanted a title shot during the crowning ceremony as Regal made it official.
The title match went down, later where Gonzalez and Moon were dealing with each other around the ring. Shotzi took advantage of the distraction by hitting the big suplex and bridge on Kai for the pin to win the titles. WWE NXT crowd went insane after witnessing two title changes on the same night.

Speaking of title matches, Io Shirai retained her WWE NXT Women’s Championship against Toni Storm, last night. Toni missed the diving headbutt as Shirai applied the Crossface submission for the win.
In the NXT Championship match, Finn Balor retained against Adam Cole. Kyle O’Reilly appeared to distract Cole as Balor hit 1916 followed by the Coup De Grace to secure the win. After the match, Kyle delivered a beatdown on Cole while Karrion Kross faced off Balor as the potential new challenger, a match that could go down at the next TakeOver event.

The first-ever two-day WWE NXT Takeover special has officially been announced for WrestleMania 37 week. The General Manager William Regal opened this week’s NXT broadcast on the USA Network to announce the name, Takeover: Stand and Deliver which will air on Wednesday, April 7, and Thursday, April 8.
Night 1 of the show will air as the weekly WWE NXT episode on the USA Network at 8 pm ET while Night 2 will air exclusively on the WWE Network on Peacock for fans in the United States, and on the WWE Network, for the rest. No matches for TakeOver: Stand and Deliver have been announced, thus far.
