As reported earlier, The first-ever WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles have been officially introduced, this week. The General Manager William Regal opened the latest episode on the USA Network to announce that Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez are the inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions as they’ve won the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.

The first-ever Women’s Tag Team Titles for WWE NXT came as a result of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler retaining over Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez in a match that ended in a controversial manner. Kai and Gonzalez had earned their title shot by winning the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Regal then declared that he would have a major announcement that came, this week.

Meanwhile, the moment for the new tag champs didn’t last long as they’ve already lost it during a championship defense against Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart. Moon and Blackheart wanted a title shot during the crowning ceremony as Regal made it official.

The title match went down, later where Gonzalez and Moon were dealing with each other around the ring. Shotzi took advantage of the distraction by hitting the big suplex and bridge on Kai for the pin to win the titles. WWE NXT crowd went insane after witnessing two title changes on the same night.
