WWE NXT: New Championship Contenders Announced; Champion Kidnapped

WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter got new challengers in the form of another babyface team on the NXT roster. During the latest episode of NXT, Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons defeated Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacey Jayne to become the new number-one contenders for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Dolin and Jayne came out to the ring with their leader, WWE NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose by the side. Earlier the night when The Toxic Attraction was entering the WWE PC, Alba Fyre attacked them with her pendant baseball bat. After putting down Dolin and Jayne, Rose was abducted by the possible next contender for the women’s title.

Taking advantage of the even situation, Stark planted Dolin with a back-to-bell GTS maneuver before Nikkita got the tag and connected with her split-legged leg-drop finisher to secure the pin to win.

Chance and Carter have been the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions since winning the then-vacant titles by defeating Toxic Attraction’s Dolin and Jayne, Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon, and Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley on the August 2 edition of NXT.

The champions previously defended their titles at a WWE premium live event, that’s WWE NXT Worlds Collide on September 4, where they retained their titles against Raw Superstars Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. While nothing around their next title has been confirmed coming out of NXT, it’s likely that the match will go down at Halloween Havoc within three weeks of time.
