During this week’s WWE NXT season premiere, a brand new era of the show has begun under the creative leadership of Triple H. The new season officially got underway, last night with a revamped announce team.
The three-man announce team of Wade Barrett, Sudu Shah, and Byron Saxton were seen on WWE NXT. While the other duo has been seen on NXT in the past, Shah, the voice of NXT Level Up on Friday nights, noted that he was filling in for Vic Joseph as the latter recently got married to his NXT colleague McKenzie Mitchell in Italy.
WWE NXT: Veer Mahaan Returns; More Superstar Trades Incoming?
It’s unknown at this point whether Saxton, a part of the Raw commentary team will be a permanent fixture on the WWE NXT announce team, going forward alongside Sudu. Previously, Saxton had left WWE’s developmental brand in December 2015 to join the then SmackDown announce booth.
The October 4 episode of WWE NXT also unveiled a brand new set and a new monochromic colored theme for the graphics and ring apron, inspired by the original black-and-yellow NXT logo. The change was imminent after the new logo was unveiled a few weeks back.
According to PWInsider, the seating arrangement for WWE NXT has been elevated to provide a better viewing angle for fans in the stands. As noted on social media by several fans, the changes were made to the set to improve their viewing experience. Another notable change was that announcers were once again seated opposite the ring entrance just like in the previous Black & Yellow era.
NXT Halloween Havoc is going to be the first WWE Specials from the revamped NXT side and it’s coming within three weeks. Interestingly, no TakeOver term has been added to it despite recent reports claiming that the TakeOver was also coming back.
