Roxanne Perez defeated Mandy Rose to become the new WWE NXT Women’s Championship during the main event of NXT on December 13, 2022. Since that win, she’s sitting out with an opponent but next week, she’ll get to know her first challenger for the title at New Year’s Evil.
On this week’s NXT episode, the entire locker room of the female superstars was seen involved in a huge brawl as they all wanted to compete in the next women’s title match. Then the champion Roxanne Perez walked in and announced that WWE informed him that 20 women will compete against each other in a battle royal to determine the challenger for WWE NXT Women’s Championship next Tuesday at New Year’s Evil.

WWE NXT: Another match set for determining new challenger for North American Title
In another contender’s match for WWE NXT North American Title, Dijak will take on Tony D’Angelo at New Year’s Evil. The Don of NXT stopped Dijak from further attacking Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo this week after Dijak defeated Lorenzo in a singles contest. Tony then challenged him to a match set for next week. Afterward, the champion Wes Lee informed that this match will take place to determine his next challenger.
In another confirmed singles match on the New Year’s Evil card, Charlie Dempsey will take on Hank Walker. Originally, Dempsey was supposed to compete against Walker on WWE NXT, this week. Unfortunately, William Regal’s son wasn’t medically cleared to compete in a match as revealed by Andre Chase during his backstage segment with Gulak.
As a result, Chase himself ended up competing against Gulak in the match while Dempsey was seen watching the match on a screen with his arm wrapped in a sling. Out of frustration, he then took off the sling and walked away from the scene. But he will ultimately be competing in a match, next week.
