This week’s WWE NXT was the final episode before TakeOver: In Your House set for this Sunday. A huge return marked the highlight of the show led by Poppy. Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase made a huge announcement and revealed a new title on the show that took place at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida. Check out results from the show,
– Oney Lorcan defeated Austin Theory in the opening contest of WWE NXT. Johnny Gargano was at ringside who got into a brawl with Pete Dunne. Lorcan grabbed Theory on the apron and sent him face-first into the ring post before dropping him on his head for the pin to win.
Flashback: The Undertaker Failed To Deliver A Mega Match In WWE, 2 Years Ago
– Santos Escobar said he’s going to make NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed suffer for what he did, last week. Reed came out and showed the footage of him hitting away at Santos, repeatedly. NXT Tag Team Champions MSK then joined Reed.
Santos then issued a challenge for a 6 Man Tag Team Match with WWE NXT North American Title and NXT Tag Team Titles on the line. Reed and MSK quickly accepted Legado Del Fantasma’s challenge. Afterward, it was made official for NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
– Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Killian Dain in a singles contest. The Top Dolla faction attacked Drake Maverick who was standing in Dain’s corner. The distraction allowed Scott to deliver a big running kick into the corner to secure the win.
WWE Draft Reportedly Returning In 2021 Fall
– Xia Li attacked Mercedes Martinez as she was making her entrance for the scheduled match on WWE NXT against Camron Clay. Mercedes sold the injury but picked up the win within a few seconds by hitting the Air Raid Crash maneuver. Mercedes said that Xia messed with the wrong person.
– Poppy released her new album in a backstage segment with Triple H. Dexter Lumis gave Poppy a drawing he made for her. Poppy gave him a hug. Indi Hartwell spotted it and she started crying.
– Ted DiBiase appeared in an in-ring segment to mention that Cameron Grimes vs. LA Knight at WWE NXT TakeOver: In Your House will now be a Ladder Match for the Million Dollar Championship which was displayed in the middle of the ring. Knight and Grimes had a face-off to end the segment.
WWE NXT Results (01/06/21): Tornado Tag Team Match announced
– Grizzled Young Veterans defeated August Grey and Ikemen Jiro by hitting the Ticket To Mayhem on Grey and Gibson. After the match, Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher wanted a match against them. Grizzled Young Veterans proposed a Tornado Tag Team Match for next week.
– NXT Champion Karrion Kross and Kyle O’Reilly got into a brawl backstage as the officials had to be involved to get them separated.
– Candice LeRae called out Poppy for stealing Indi Hartwell’s man. Poppy came out in huge cheers from the crowd and then introduced Io Shirai with her. The returnee hit a 619 on LeRae before giving her a drop-kick. Poppy and Shirai celebrated to end the segment.
– Ember Moon defeated Dakota Kai via DQ after WWE NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez interfered. Raquel and Ember brawled, afterward. Ember took out Raquel with an Eclipse to stand tall.
– Karrion Kross, Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne, and Johnny Gargano featured in the main event segment to get into a brawl before their TakeOver: In Your House title match. Kross was the last man standing after hitting Kyle with a forearm in the back. But Adam Cole appeared from behind and took out Kross with the Last Shot. Cole posed with WWE NXT Championship to send the show off-air.
