The latest episode of WWE NXT witnessed a former resident of the brand returning to the show to feature in the main event. NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes was seen in action in a non-title match that could have set up his next rivalry. Besides a new women’s tag team continued to build momentums in their favor on the August 1 episode of the show that went down from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. – WWE NXT kicked off with Gallus attacking the new NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in the Parking Lot.
– In the opening match of WWE NXT, Lyra Valkyria defeated Jacy Jayne. After delivering a spinning heel back kick, Lyra connected with a top rope splash for the win.

WWE NXT Results (01/08/23): Dominik Mysterio’s next title defense
– In a promo exchange session it was announced that Dominik Mysterio vs. Dragon Lee for the NXT North American Championship will take place, next week. Rey Mysterio appeared on the titantron and revealed that he will appear in Lee’s corner during the title defense.
– Dijak defeated Eddy Thorpe after delivering a big boot to the jaw.
Summerslam 2023: Update On The Rock’s Availability For August WWE PLE
– Elektra Lopez & Lola Vice defeated Yulisa Leon & Valentina Feroz in a tag team match. Leon was busy dumping Lopez outside the ring which allowed Vice to connect with a roundhouse kick for the victory.
– Noam Dar and Oro Mensah defeated WWE NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Wes Lee in a tag team match. Lee accidentally hit Hayes in the head. This allowed Mensah to deliver a kick to Lee while the referee was distracted. Dar followed it up with an enziguri for the win. After the match, Carmelo and Lee got involved in an argument, hinting at a feud for the NXT title.
– Bron Breakker challenged Von Wagner to a fight in a promo.
– Baron Corbin defeated Andre Chase despite interferences from Chase U members by connecting with the End of Days finisher.
– Schism met in the ring to find the impostor among them, and it was revealed to be Ikemen Jiro. Joe Gacy still believed that it was The Creed Brothers who are doing things behind their back. The Creeds eventually appeared on the titantron and claimed that they weren’t anywhere near the PC.
– Cora Jade said in a promo that she’s leaving WWE NXT out of sickness.
WWE NXT Results (01/08/23): Santos Escobar returns
– SmackDown Superstar and LWO member Santos Escobar returned to WWE NXT as the surprise partner in the main event to join NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo to defeat Gallus. Escobar ran through all three opponents by the end of the match allowing his cohorts to deliver their finisher for the pinfall win.
– Before WWE NXT went off the air, Ilja Dragunov appeared in a promo claiming that Trick Williams is the sole reason he’s not the NXT Champion right now. Ilja won’t rest until Trick is “fully terminated.”
