WWE NXT presented us with a new mid-card champion who belongs to the main roster following the main event title match. Two touted future bright tag teams made their debuts on the show. Baron Corbin made his presence felt as a mystery persona while new angles continued to set up matches for the Great American Bash. Check out the results from the July 18 episode of NXT that took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida,
– WWE NXT kicked off with NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov having a face-off ahead of their Title Match at NXT Great American Bash on July 30.
Ilja mentioned how stuck his nose in Carmelo’s business last week, to ensure that Damian Priest didn’t cash in his Money in the Bank contract successfully and then take the NXT Title to Raw. Hayes said one way or another, he’s going to retain his title at Bash.
– In a backstage segment, Mustafa Ali told Wes Lee that he wants to face him at NXT Great American Bash for the WWE NXT North American Championship, not Dominik Mysterio (indicating Dom’s possible win during NXT main event). Lee assured him of a title retention.

– Dragon Lee and Nathan Frazer defeated Los Lotharios (Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza) in the opening match of WWE NXT. Angel took the pinfall loss and Humberto blamed him for the loss and shoved him.
– The hooded individual from NXT was revealed to be Baron Corbin.

– Kiana James defeated Gigi Dolin in the next match. James countered a pump kick with a hair whip and reached for her purse. Dolin took it but the referee prevented her from hitting James with it. Dolin looked for it, again as James delivered the 401K for the win.
WWE NXT Results (18/07/23): Big debut and betrayal
– Bronco Nima and Lucien Price defeated Axiom and Scrypts in their debut match on WWE NXT. The win came after Scrypts turned on Axiom with a cheap shot from behind. Nima planted Axiom with a running stomp after which Price pinned her.
– Tony D’Angelo finally got released from prison and returned to NXT which led to the announcement of Gallus vs. Tony D’Angelo & “Channing” Stacks Lorenzo for the NXT Tag Team Championship at WWE NXT Great American Bash.
– Thea Hail defeated Elektra Lopez with ease using the Kimura Lock submission. After the match, Thea called out Tiffany Stratton and challenged her to a Submission Match for the NXT Women’s Championship at WWE NXT Great American Bash. Tiffany accepted the challenge after coming out.
– Oro Mensah defeated Eddy Thorpe with slight help from Dijak. As the latter blindsided Thorpe from behind, Mensah delivered a spinning kick for the win.
– Roxanne Perez vs. Blair Davenport was announced for WWE NXT Great American Bash.
WWE NXT Results (18/07/23): New champion crowned
– Dominik Mysterio defeated Wes Lee (c) in the main event of WWE NXT with help from The Judgment Day to win the NXT North American Championship. Lee landed a corkscrew before Finn Balor distracted the referee. Lee caught Damian Priest with a Kardiak Kick but Ripley clocked Lee with her Women’s World Championship, allowing Dominik to secure the win and his first singles title win in WWE. Dominik will now defend the North American Title against Mustafa Ali at WWE NXT Great American Bash.
