This week’s WWE NXT continued the rivalry between Samoa Joe and Karrion Kross. The Cruiserweight Champion was in action while the Breakout Tournament 2021 continued on the show. Also, NXT Women’s Championship was defended in the main event of the night that took place at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida. Check out the results,
– WWE NXT opened with Samoa Joe calling out NXT Champion Karrion Kross for putting him out, last week. NXT General Manager William Regal interrupted and told Joe that he shouldn’t be calling out superstars as part of their deal. Joe said Kross provoked him and choked him out last week. Regal isn’t in control of Kross show should be put down. Joe made the exit by saying that someone is going to be put to sleep by the end of the night.
– WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida and Bobby Fish defeated Diamond Mine’s Roderick Strong and Tyler Rust in the first match of the night. Fish and Strong were tumbling to the floor when Kushida pinned Rust for the win.
Carmella Receives Another WWE Smackdown Women’s Title Match Opportunity
– Franky Monet defeated Jacy Jayne in a singles contest. Mandy Rose came out in the middle of the match and sat on the announce table to watch the match. Monet had no problems in putting down Jacy with her Road to Valhalla finisher to secure the win.
– WWE NXT TakeOver 36 was announced to take place on the night after SummerSlam 2021. Adam Cole vs. Bronson Reed was also announced for next week.
WWE NXT Results (20/07/21): Kyle O’Reilly in action
– Kyle O’Reilly defeated The Way’s Austin Theory in a singles contest. After a shot to the jaw, Kyle connected with a knee to the face. Theory screamed out in pain after Kyle applied the heel hook. Theory tapped out for the finish. Afterward, in a backstage segment, The Way members didn’t get on the same page as Theory quietly left the building as he believed that The Way was falling apart.
WWE SummerSlam 2021: John Cena And Goldberg Issue Title Match Challenges
– Legado Del Fantasma faction was scheduled to hold a Mariachi Madness Musical. Santos Escobar cut a promo on how the fans don’t deserve their music. He also proceeded to send a message to the Hit Row faction since he wants to go after the WWE NXT North American Championship.
Hit Row interrupted and the champion Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott mentioned that it took all of the Legado faction to defeat him, the last time they faced off. The two groups eventually got into a brawl. Scott hit Joaquin Wilde with a Guitar to end the brawl.
– Odyssey Jones defeated Andre Chase in a singles contest to advance to the next round of the WWE NXT Breakout Tournament. Jones hit a One-armed Chokeslam to his opponent to get the pinfall win.
– WWE NXT Tag Team Champions MSK was about to reveal to the audience what ‘MSK’ stands for but Imperium interrupted before they could say it. Imperium’s Pete Dunne and Fabian Aichner wanted to fight Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher, next week.
– Drake Maverick defeated Million Dollar Champion LA Knight via a roll-up. After the match, LA attacked Drake and blamed his butler Cameron Grimes for his loss. Grimes pulled LA off of Drake. LA ordered Grimes to punch Drake as part of his Butler duties and he did so.
– Raquel Gonzalez (c) defeated Xia Li to retain the WWE NXT Women’s Championship in the final match of the night. Gonzalez delivered a big corkscrew Vader Bomb from the corner which may have hurt Li. The champion then hit a One-armed Chokeslam on Li to retain the title.
– Samoa Joe called out Karrion Kross after the title match. Kross instead appeared on the big screen as we saw WWE NXT General Manager William Regal lying in front of him. As Joe ran to the back for help, Kross asked Joe if he thinks he is still in control. Kross then drove away in his car as the show went off the air.
