Following the Great American Bash 2023 premium live event, WWE NXT brought the fallouts from the show, this week. They certainly had a stacked card set for the episode and next week is going to be even bigger with a championship match waiting. Besides, a WWE Hall of Famer will be present at ringside during this upcoming match.
At the WWE NXT Great American Bash event, North American Champion Dominik Mysterio successfully defended his title against former champion Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali in a Triple Threat. WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley played a big role in the title retention. Interestingly, after the match, Dom refused to shake the hand of Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels.

Dom and Ripley also met and verbally blasted Dragon Lee as Ripley called him a “wannabe Rey Mysterio” and Dominik called him an “unoriginal” for looking like his father. Then on last night’s WWE NXT, it was announced that Lee was going to get a match for the North American Title.
Ripley proudly announced that she was going to be in Dom’s corner, which led to Lee announcing that Rey Mysterio will join in his corner for the match. The legend then appeared on the tron in a pre-taped video segment.
“I am proud to say that I’m coming next week to ‘NXT,’ to be in the corner of someone who I truly respect, the future of Lucha Libre, Dragon Lee,” Rey said in his message for his son. “Hey, I hate to break it to you, but I’m going to have the best seat in the house and I can’t wait when Dragon Lee takes away that North American Title.”
Dominik Mysterio captured the WWE NXT North American Championship during the July 18 episode of NXT. Already he defended the belt on three separate occasions including Bash. It is his first solo reign with a title in the WWE but he did hold the SmackDown Tag Team Championship alongside his father in 2021.

Apart from Dom, former WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker will also be in action on the August 8 episode of NXT as the confirmed match card goes as follows,
