Dragon Lee has been touted as the most-paid under-contract wrestler on the WWE NXT Roster since Mandy Rose has been gone. Quite obviously, the white-and-gold brand has some big plans around him when the time is right. For the time being, the process of bringing him on TV has started.
As seen on the NXT roadblock 2023 special edition, Dragon Lee has officially arrived on the WWE NXT roster. Before a six-man tag team match took place featuring the WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker and The Creed Brothers vs. Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher during the show, the camera zoomed to the latest addition to the NXT roster.

He was introduced to the audience as WWE’s newest signee, Dragon Lee. The former AAA Tag Team Champion then waved at the crowd in attendance as commentator Vic Joseph also tagged him as an “international sensation.” This was his short into to the NXT crowd before he officially makes his in-ring debut, possibly next month around the Wrestlemania 39 weekend.
Dragon Lee was signed to an NXT contract in late 2022
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously reported that Dragon Lee was expected to make his much-awaited appearance on TV in the near future. He was apparently dealing with visa issues for the past few months which delayed his TV show-up to NXT Roadblock 2023. For the time being, the creative direction of the Masked Luchador remains uncertain but it’s likely to be concrete around the next few weeks.
Reports of Dragon Lee signing with the WWE surfaced on December 2022, shortly after he, and his brother Dralistico, defeated FTR to win the AAA Tag Team Championships at Gira Aniversario XXX Noche De Campeones. However, Lee was forced to drop the titles, right after the win as he was heading into the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida after informing the crowd about his deal with the biggest pro-wrestling banner in the world.
Soon after the latest signing of NXT, the former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose was released from her contract. It was afterward reported that Dragon Lee had thus become the highest-paid talent on the NXT brand. It was also noted that on his three-year contract, Lee will also reportedly receive a raise, each year. The expectation is that he will eventually arrive on the main roster by 2024.
