A special WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ 2022 episode has been announced that takes place within just a couple of weeks. The inaugural edition of the show will air live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, May 3. The main event match of the night has also been confirmed where the NXT Championship will be on the line.
WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ 2022 will be headlined by Joe Gacy challenging NXT Champion Bron Breakker. This comes as a first title defense for Bron who won the title by defeating Dolph Ziggler on the Raw after Wrestlemania 38 episode. That match also ended the feud between Ziggler and Bron over the title.
Then Gacy began feuding with Bron on that very same week after he and his protégé Harland abducted 2022 WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner. Gacy freed Steiner but he kept his Hall of Fame ring intact and taunted Bron with it last week and also pretended to put it into a fire. The taunting continued this week as Bron tried to find him.
By the end of the show, Bron confronted Gacy while he stood alone on the balcony above the crowd at the WWE Performance Center. Gacy returned the Hall of Fame ring of Steiner in return to which he was a title shot for WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ 2022. After a few seconds, Gacy shoved Bron off the balcony as a group of mystery men were about to carry him off. This terrifying scene ended this week’s NXT 2.0.

WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ 2022: Triple Threat Title match set
WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ 2022 will also feature NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes defending his title in a Triple Threat against Solo Sikoa and Carmelo Hayes. This will be the champion’s second title defense since winning the belt at NXT Stand & Deliver 2022 in a Fatal-5-Way Ladder Match.
Grimes overcame Sikoa, Grayson Waller, Santos Escobar, and the former champion Carmelo Hayes to win the first championship belt of his WWE career. Hayes, Sikoa, and Grimes have been feuding over the mid-card title since then. The Triple Threat bout for WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ 2022 was confirmed after Hayes defeated Escobar in singles action, last night.
