Builds for NXT Spring Breaking 2023 had begun a week ago as the main event for the upcoming evening was already confirmed in the form of Carmelo Hayes’ first title defense against Grayson Waller. Coming out of this week’s NXT, the NXT Women’s Championship will also be on the line on the show as Indi Hartwell defends against Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade.
Several more matches for next week’s NXT Spring Breaking 2023 were announced during this Tuesday’s episode of NXT. One of those matches will see Cora Jade facing Lyra Valkyria. This match was announced after Jade defeated Gigi Dolin in a singles contest. Valkyria came out and challenged Jade to a match which was accepted.
WWE Battleground Returning As NXT Specials In 2023 Summer
Valkyria and Jade have only been part of a 20-Woman Battle Royal to determine the Number-One Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship at New Year’s Evil 2023. Then at the April 11 episode of NXT, Jade blasted every woman involved in the ladder match at Stand & Deliver for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Valkyria was a part of that match but failed to the eventual winner, Indi Hartwell. However, Valkyria came out to confront Jade and the two exchanged blows to set up this upcoming match at NXT Spring Breaking 2023.
In another interesting announcement, the first-ever Trunk Match between Tony D’Angelo and Stacks will also go down at NXT Spring Breaking 2023 against Pretty Deadly’s Elton Prince and Kit Wilson. Last week, Prince and Wilson attacked Stacks and D’Angelo, backstage. A week before that, Pretty Deadly defeated Stacks and D’Angelo by exposing the turnbuckle.
After turning heel, the former NXT Champion Bron Breakker has himself denied being a part of the NXT Title Match at NXT Spring Breaking 2023 and he’s rather happy to create chaos within Chase University. Now, Bron Breakker 2.0 vs. Andre Chase has been announced the upcoming show.
