Even bigger star powers from Monday Night Raw programming are being inserted into WWE NXT to secure great viewership. It seems WWE officials are serious about making NXT the legit third brand of the company and they have now recruited Becky Lynch to be back on her old stomping grounds for a title match opportunity.
In the latest episode of WWE NXT, Tiffany Stratton defeated Kiana James to retain the NXT Women’s Championship in the opening contest. Kicking out of the 401 finisher of Kiana, Stratton raked Kiana into the eyes before finally landing the pendant Prettiest Moonsault Ever to pick up the win. Following the match, a surprise was in store for her in the form of Lynch.
The only co-Raw and Smackdown Championship winner in WWE history appeared on the show to inform Tiffany that she’s achieved most of the accolades in WWE except for the WWE NXT Women’s Title. So, it’s time for The Man to come around to compete in a match over the championship. That match was later made official for the September 12 episode via social media accounts.

New Match for NXT No Mercy to be announced
While this should be serving as the main event of next week’s WWE NXT episode, stakes have been raised to determine the next challenger for the NXT Championship, as well. NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes announced that a new challenger his title will be determined during the September 12 episode when Wes Lee and Ilja Dragunov will compete in a number-one contender’s match.
The winner between these two will face him for the title at NXT No Mercy 2023. Dominik and his next title match defense has also been announced for PLE waiting for later this month.
Also, during next week’s episode, the WWE NXT Heritage Cup Invitational tournament will be ongoing with two separate matches. The winner of this tourney will eventually get to face the current cup winner Noam Dar at No Mercy.
