The final match between Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly in their ongoing rivalry has predictably been booked for WWE NXT TakeOver 36. Going by the looks and booking, this could end up being the main event of the upcoming PPV event during the Summerslam event.
NXT General Manager William Regal was the one to announce “The Undisputed Finale: Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly III” for WWE NXT TakeOver 36. The two appeared in a face-off session on last night’s episode in a session moderated by Regal.
During that segment, it was announced that Cole and O’Reilly will battle under 2 out of 3 Falls rules. O’Reilly was allowed to pick the first stipulation, as he chose a traditional pinfall or submission match. Cole then picked the second stipulation and went ahead with a Street Fight. Regal then picked up the third stipulation, if needed, and this match will be fought inside a Steel Cage.
As mentioned above, Cole and Kyle have previously battled twice under their ongoing feud with both men scoring one win, each. This means the upcoming WWE NXT TakeOver 36 bout will serve as the rubber match for the two of them.
WWE NXT Title Tuesday Announced Before TakeOver 36
It was also announced on last night’s show that the Million Dollar Champion LA Knight will defend his title against Cameron Grimes, in what appears to be the third meeting between the two. Per the stipulations of the match, WWE Hall of Famer “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase will also become Knight’s butler if Grimes loses this upcoming match.
Grimes is currently working as Knight’s butler after losing to him at Great American Bash. Before that during their first encounter, Grimes also lost the Million Dollar Title match to Knight, a couple of months ago.
