In two weeks’ time, WWE NXT will present its next themed episode in NXT Spring Breakin’ 2023 edition. But before that night, another episode from NXT’s third brand will be airing, next week which also contains two huge title match encounters over the mid-card championship belts.

The April 18 episode of WWE NXT will feature an NXT North American Championship match where the champion Wes Lee will defend his title against Charlie Dempsey. The challenger in this match is the son of pro wrestling legend and former long-time NXT General Manager, William Regal. He receives his first title shot of his career in a matchup which is also a first-time-ever match lineup.

Lee has been the WWE NXT North American Champion since he won the then-vacant title in a fatal-5-way ladder match at the 2022 Halloween Havoc event. His latest championship defense on weekly TV went down on the April 4 episode against Axiom. Afterward, he successfully defended it in a fatal-5-way match at Stand & Deliver on April 1.
