Roman Reigns should be the current Universal Champion. This year, Wrestlemania’s main event was tailor-made for him. Being the top babyface of the company, he was all set to dethrone the biggest heel on the roster.
But, the reality turned out to be totally different. Ace wrestler Brock Lesnar continued to dominate him like he always did in the past.
Delivering numerous F5s and suplexes, he en route to a victory in a spectacular fashion. Reigns did get a second chance at the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV event.
However, the WWE creative team was not willing to give him the Universal title, yet. So, despite him actually winning the match, the referee favored the reigning champion. This lets him keep hold to the title, still.
Meanwhile, The Big Dog has entered in a feud against Jinder Mahal.
In a recent episode of WWE Raw, a main event qualifying match was hosted. Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, and Roman Reigns competed in it. When it looked, the latter one will capitalize with a spear, Mahal came out to provide the distraction and cost him the match.

To be precise, this has started a rivalry that will continue for the next few weeks. Initially, it looks like the feud will be great to watch out for.
One of them is the prime babyface where the other one is the bonafide heel which makes this one an interesting feud. But, the fact that Mahal fails to deliver good matches can be a headache for the creative team.
The topic was nurtured in a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer pointed out Mahal’s inability by giving an example of the feud against Randy Orton,
“It’s tough because the one thing about Jinder is he’s tough to work with. “You know Randy Orton had crappy matches with him. It’s not like Randy Orton has great matches with everybody — I mean he’s talented as hell but he just doesn’t. But Randy Orton doesn’t have ‘crappy’ matches with a lot of people. Unless he’s put in a position like with the Bray Wyatt thing and that wasn’t matches that were just bad scenarios.”
However, the source also stated that despite this, it might work out for both.
So, putting him in a feud against a villain like Mahal will certainly look good for him.
It might turn out to be in a way where Reigns will bury this guy being the prime superstar of the company. Once he is done with that, the momentum might help him to get back to the title picture, once again.
This might happen once the Summerslam season picks up. These are the further updates about this particular feud,
“We got six weeks to set up the next pay-per-view and it might just to be a set up so Roman Reigns kills him and if that’s the case then that’s. It’s just a way to eliminate him by a heel screwing him which is always good for a babyface.”
